Riyad grew up in South Asia, spending his formative years in a remote village in India before continuing his education at the International School in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He earned a BSBA in International Business from the American University. After working with the World Bank, he went on to receive an MSc from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Riyad has worked in Technology Investment Banking with Credit Suisse, Citigroup, JP Morgan and UBS, living in New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. In 2014, he left banking to co-found a technology-focused structured credit fund.
Riyad also serves on the San Francisco Board of the American India Foundation, which is dedicated to catalyzing social and economic change for underserved communities in India. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and their two daughters (Hamlin ’23 and Hamlin ’25). In his free time, he loves running, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with his family.
