Willow Hagge (they/them) started at Hamlin as the Hub Art Teacher and soon became the Director of Extended Day and Co-Curricular Programs. After 7 years in that role, Willow took on the newly-formed role of Director of Operations in 2019. Willow’s educational background is in the fine arts: they studied English, Art History, and Studio Art at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, receiving a combined BFA and BA. Willow also holds an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Wisconsin.
Willow loves how the skills they learned in art school – generating ideas and seeing them through to completion – has served them well over the years in many different areas of life and work. Willow enjoys spending time sewing clothes, painting, rocking out to music, and exploring Bernal Hill with their two boys, ages 5 and 8, and their spouse Joe.
Willow is non-binary and their pronouns are they/them/theirs. They would love to talk to you about how much happier and more comfortable they are now that they can fully express their gender identity! They are grateful to the leaders and educators who have brought attention to non-binary and genderqueer identities.
