Amara Cohen (she/her) grew up in Berkeley and decided in seventh grade that she wanted to be a teacher. She attended the University of Chicago and majored in Public Policy with a specialization in Education. In Chicago, she worked as a Grade 4 teaching assistant and conducted research on social-emotional learning. She also played saxophone in the Pep Bend, as well as intramural Broomball. In her free time, Amara enjoys cycling, painting, reading, and teaching herself how to play guitar.
