Caroline Barlerin is a purpose-driven CEO and global impact leader known for harnessing technology, philanthropy, and cross-sector partnerships to drive systemic change. As Founder and CEO of Platypus Advisors, she helps guide corporations, philanthropists, and investors to accelerate positive impact through innovation, collaboration, and human-centered design.
Caroline’s career spans leadership roles across technology, social innovation, and public policy from shaping global community engagement at Twitter and leading global citizenship at Hewlett-Packard, to co-creating the Taproot Foundation and being the inaugural leader of Level Playing Field Institute.
A passionate advocate for ethical AI, digital equity, and gender justice, she has partnered with organizations like Ford Foundation, Google DeepMind, okta and Kiva to advance responsible innovation. Recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Business (SF Business Times) and a recipient of The Hoffman Prize for service, Caroline continues to champion collaboration and creativity as the foundation for lasting global impact. Caroline currently co-chairs the Global Fund for Women board and is a former Aspen Institute First Mover fellow. She holds a B.A. from Vassar College and was a Sloan Fellow at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

By the end of their first year, they were navigating the early onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and faced a pivotal decision: whether to move forward with our bold and transformative campus construction project amid profound global uncertainty.
