Clayton Timbrell is a General Contractor focusing on the renovation and construction of distinct single-family homes throughout the Bay Area. Clayton’s background includes having attended Town School (’96), School Year Abroad, Spain (’99), and an honors degree in Spanish Language & Literature from UC Berkeley (’03). While at UC Berkeley, Clayton spent a semester at Casa de Las Americas in La Habana, Cuba, in 2002. Clayton is parent to Adelyn Timbrell ’32, brother to Margaret Timbrell ’94, and uncle to Marigold Hiatt ’30. From 2015-2025, Clayton served on the Board of Trustees of San Francisco University High School, where he chaired the Buildings & Grounds committee during the planning and construction of the school’s new building at 3150 California St.

These trustees—my peers, colleagues, and friends—joined the board in 2019. By the end of their first year, they were navigating the early onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and faced a pivotal decision: whether to move forward with our bold and transformative campus construction project amid profound global uncertainty.
