Digital Arts
In Digital Arts, students explore a wide range of creative tools and techniques, including animation, photography, digital painting, and film.
Early in the course, students dive into animation, learning how to storyboard, design characters, apply core animation principles, and integrate audio. They guide their projects from concept to completion, producing imaginative and creative work. Students also develop strong digital photography skills by practicing techniques such as leading lines, the rule of thirds, and capturing patterns and textures. In addition to taking photographs, they learn how to adapt and enhance their images digitally using a variety of editing tools. The course further introduces students to fundamental filmmaking techniques, including shot types, camera angles, and framing, preparing them to plan, direct, and produce their own short films. Throughout the course, students build a diverse portfolio that highlights their creativity, technical growth, and ability to bring ideas to life through digital media.
These trustees—my peers, colleagues, and friends—joined the board in 2019. By the end of their first year, they were navigating the early onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and faced a pivotal decision: whether to move forward with our bold and transformative campus construction project amid profound global uncertainty.
