Liana (she/her) grew up in New York and attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a concentration in dance. Liana moved to San Francisco in 2015 after gaining her Master of Arts, Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, with honors and a dual certification in general and special education. Liana taught at a neighboring school for two years, where she was the recipient of the Convent of the Sacred Heart Sister Mary Mardel Fund for Faculty Excellence (2016-2017). Liana taught five of the following years at Hamlin, toggling between Kindergarten and Grade 2. During her fifth year in this community, she received the Irene C. Abbe Excellence in Teaching Award (2022-2023). Liana is thrilled to return to Hamlin as an LS Learning Specialist this school year.
