Cassia graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Environmental Justice focusing on food systems and education. While living in Vermont, she explored community wellbeing by building connections between students and food security and environmental stewardship networks. As an agroecology apprentice in South Korea, she sowed seeds of transformation at small-scale organic vegetable, flower, and fruit farms. Cassia brought their research of local agricultural traditions and intergenerational learning to host reflective gatherings on food culture, diasporic relationships to land and heritage, and community resilience.
Cassia’s experiences working in mission-driven organizations and schools has deepened their commitment to supporting intentional learning environments and fostering relationships between people and place. Cassia values bringing together ideas and perspectives across disciplines and sharing stories to envision a more just future. She’s excited to continue collaborating with teams to support youth development and identifying ways to celebrate shared experiences at Hamlin.
Cassia enjoys discovering new favorite snacks, reading picture books, and listening to the wind in the trees.
When I think about what has brought us to this moment, one feeling rises above all others: gratitude. Gratitude for the friendships formed, for the partnerships with Wanda, the leadership team, and my fellow trustees, and for the extraordinary faculty and staff who bring this school to life each day with intention, care, and heart, whether in the classroom, in the hallways, or in the quiet moments in between.
