Jung was born in South Korea, but she grew up in Gallatin, Tennessee from the age of three. She received her BA from Vanderbilt University and moved to San Francisco in 1998. During her years here, she has helped persuade the following family members to move to the Bay Area: sister, parents, brother-in-law, and two cousins. She is still working on her other sister.
Jung has worked in affordable housing and economic development, most recently for BRIDGE Housing, California’s largest non-profit affordable housing developer. After leaving in 2012, she co-founded a soccer non-profit, SoccerFours, to provide soccer games for busy adults while donating their fees to soccer youth programs. When she’s not at Hamlin, you’ll find her playing, coaching, or refereeing soccer games.
Jung has served on the Board of Directors of HandsOn Bay Area and as Chair of Hands On San Francisco Day. She and her husband, Will, have two daughters Dylan (Hamlin ‘24) and Kelsey (Hamlin ‘26).
When I think about what has brought us to this moment, one feeling rises above all others: gratitude. Gratitude for the friendships formed, for the partnerships with Wanda, the leadership team, and my fellow trustees, and for the extraordinary faculty and staff who bring this school to life each day with intention, care, and heart, whether in the classroom, in the hallways, or in the quiet moments in between.
