Gessi R. Wiese’s experience in education spans two decades of teaching and administration in public, private, and international contexts. After teaching young learners in the New York City public school system and earning an MA degree in Curriculum Development at The New School, she helped found an independent school in San Francisco and then developed its admissions department. A teacher at heart, she loves instilling young learners with a sense of curiosity, collaboration, and the confidence to experiment, face challenges, and learn from their mistakes. Her teaching approach emphasizes hands-on, independent, student-centered learning and task-based STEM activities. A former student at an independent all girls school, Gessi understands the impact single-sex education has on young women.
Her interests include ghost towns, food from her Caribbean homeland, hot yoga, and making her own MadLibs with her daughter and husband.
